ARTS AND CRAFTS:
Art is not something that came into this world just yesterday, it has been an important part of our lives since the world begun. And of course our country is best known for it. What tells us about the rich heritage and culture of a country? Definitely art and craft. As humans we are bound to admire the beauty around us, such as we are often awe-struck when we see something that captures our mind, or even listening to soothing music. It is so very hard to ignore such things.
Art is a form to express one's innermost feelings or expressions through any object or medium like paper, music, colors, technology,photography etc. Each art has its own perks. Mostly visual and performing arts are far more relatable than any other forms. Visual art comprises of paintings, drawing , clay modelling, photography etc. And performing arts include, dance, music , opera, musical theater etc.
Artists are utter alchemists. To start from the scrap and bring into the world something mesmerizing is something only they can do. It is the power of imagination, patience, and endurance and of course the power of our hands that makes sticks into baskets, clay into pots, stone into sculptures, words into poems, sound into songs and much more anyone could imagine. We all have an inner artist in all of us, we just have to dig a little deeper. We all are potential alchemists. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Every artist was first an amateur”. It definitely takes time to groom something to look amazing.
Not just simply creating something new defines art, it has so much more to it. Art is one of the way to convey people's feelings and innermost emotions. Be it cave painting or any other form of art, people have been using it as a form of communication even from ancient times.
Personally I'm a lover of art, well who isn't. Anything interesting and captivating to the eyes, invites me in. For instance let's take stone painting. What at those times have been done on huge rocks and caves is now being done on stones. There isn't much difference. When its just a stone, there's nothing interesting in it right? But with a little imagination and creativity it can be made into something wondrous. It seriously amazes me how something that seems crappy can be made into something astonishing with the right amount of innovation. It all takes serious work too, not everything comes off without any effort.
Art makes life much more simpler and even more complicated in its own way and there's no denying the fact.The way to a fulfilled life is through the arts and crafts. They lead us out of consumerism. The practice of arts and crafts is a spiritual practice through which we honor the material world, and while we do that we develop a sense of beauty and generosity in our lives.
